🚨 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: RENÉ LAVICE🚨
From finding out about Drum & Bass music via the late night broadcasts on Toronto's College Radio stations (88.1FM & 89.5FM) while growing up,
@renelavice has travelled worlds away from where he started. Fast forward through the years and René's own productions are now hailed round the world as some of the genre's most iconic and innovative records. He's flown worldwide performing shows and cultivating the sound of D&B as a true tastemaker and leader in the genre. Following in the footsteps of legendary former hosts, René spent five years as the Drum & Bass representative on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, cementing his legacy on the world's biggest broadcasting platform.
As a producer, René LaVice is known for combining different styles and influences. Nowhere could this be more evident than in his first breakthrough track "Headlock," which took the scene by storm. Since then, René has made a string of definitive originals and remixes such as ‘The Calling’ ft. Ivy Mairi (A-Listed on Radio 1, Billboard Top 40 Dance), ‘Bang Bang’ - a killer remix of DJ Fresh, Diplo and Craig David, and an earth-shaking remix of ‘Rebel Radio’ by The Prodigy. René collaborated with Prodigy main man Liam Howlett on a new take on "Breathe" featuring RZA, which formed part of the soundtrack to the blockbuster movie Fast and Furious 9. He has continued to push sonic boundaries with a relentless string of heavy-hitting solo tracks and high-profile collaborations with legends like Spor.
On top of all of this, René’s powerhouse label, ‘DeVice,’ has grown from a bold imprint launched just before the pandemic into a dominant, mature force in the industry. Having celebrated its landmark five-year anniversary, DeVice has surpassed millions of global streams and serves as a premier hub for high-impact dancefloor energy. Steadily amassing a fiercely dedicated fanbase, the only direction is up for DeVice, as the label and René himself continue to shape the future of electronic music. Let’s GO!
