@24hoursoflemons@carolinamotorsportspark Recap!!
Well after a mad thrash to get the motor swapped after we overheated in Atlanta we made it to the block party on Friday night in Kershaw. Great time met some good people. Car ran great to the event & back so we had high hopes!! @13upinsmoke started off for us Saturday & got about 5 or 6 laps in moving pretty well through the field of about 100 cars. Then he spins out in turn 4 to 5. We come into the penalty area after it took a few minutes to get the car fired up on track. Unfortunately the live stream cut out right before the spin🤦. Not the best cell service out there but definitely check out @gearshiftgarage_ for your live stream needs. It's freaking awesome!!! After checking in at penalty we came to the pits cause we had heard a clunking on downshift. From there the same troubles as Road Atlanta started & we couldn't get the car to restart for a while. After I think an hour or 2 it finally fired back up & Daniel aka Mercury got in & ran about 6 laps before self reporting for passing under caution. When he went into the penalty the judges have you shut the car off & again we couldn't get it started back up. Killed us the rest of Saturday 🤬🤬🤬. Sunday we come back & @acon_1980 starts us off strong in the rain & wet track. Put down about 35 laps moving us back up to about 80th place!! He ended up coming in before the break at 11am smelling fuel in the car. As he pulls into the pits the car dies which our plan was to just keep it running all day. Fill up at the fuel station outside the track & never turn it off. So that didn't work & again couldn't get it fired up. About 2 or 3hours later it got fired up & Merc jumped back in. He maybe went 5 laps before smelling fuel & it burning his eyes so he came in & again as he pulls in the car stallsout & dies😫😫. We never got it to fire back up the rest of the day. So frustrating but that's racing. Didn't wreck the car just gotta find the "ghost in the machine". But we got some time before we head back to @roadatlanta in December!! Thanks to everyone at the track & for sure the best crewman in the pits @prestonderidder !! We completed 56 laps & finished 86

Whelp we are ready to roll for the #24houroflemons race at #carolinamotorsportspark next weekend. April 25 & 26. Awesome work from all the guys getting the motor back in & all together & big thanks to @osasautosports for the tuning & removal of the damn PATS system. Will post some more pics of the rebuild soon. Also we are still getting in donations for @prostatecancerfoundation link is still in the bio. Thanks to everyone who has donated!!!
Little update since the last post has been a few. We ended up over heating the mustang at the end of the Road Atlanta #24houroflemons race. Ended up forgetting to turn the cooling fan on. Was fine through the race as it was pretty chill out but by the time the car goy back from the finale lap parade & into the pits we overheated as we were going on the trailer. Sent the oil sample out which didn't look bad honestly. But came back with water in the oil in the report. By which time we had already changed the oil when the sample was taken. Ended up getting the car to start up at the house & ran it for about 15ish minutes. As you can see in the video above the report was correct?! Currently in the process of swapping another motor in with the intention of rebuild this one as a spare in the future. Will get some updates & some engine swap pics up soon.
Back at it again getting ready for our second #24houroflemons race. Had the head cooling mod hose pop out of the an fitting as we were loading up on the trailer leaving Road Atlanta along with the power hose off the thermostat housing popping off from a bad clamp. Just gotta remove the transmission again & reattach the hose then on to the next item on the list. Getting this pos to start🤬🤬🤬🤬. Fu$# Ford PATS system!!!! Also we are still raising for #prostatecancerfoundation link is in the bio!!!
