It's not like me to not be thinking ahead of time. The thoughts randomly come to me when I'm within my comfort zone. Contemplating on the very
next thing that needs my attention. My unique perspective, my warped vision, and my unorthodox methods would be needed to conquer new heights and enter spacious, full-of-life territories to craft, create, and inspire. Not waiting for things to fall into my lap, I leap forward into fresh, exciting beginnings that feel spontaneous, liberating, and expressive to continue on a journey that will lead me to self-discovery and introspection. Hatching from my chrysalis after a much-needed metamorphosis, I step back into the outside world, and notice the sphere glowing in the night sky above and the disturbing, monstrous sentients below. With mixed messages, they all stare back at me with sinister intentions, but then I look back down and remember why I continue to do what I do... What's my reason for continuing to create a collection of stories pertaining to my life experiences? The answer is simple, yet so complex that a straightforward response would sound as satisfying. I will say this: it's because I'm building a legacy one phase, evolution, chapter, episode, and season at a time, and stopping would not satiate my hunger for growth and expansion...

Good news my trippy thespians! I have an opportunity to return to one of my stomping grounds, my collaboration cavern, my social-change lounge, and my creative hub for art making inside and outside the community for a second pop-up shop this April 17th. In the midst of continuing my story as an artist, I was also building a legacy art piece by art piece, encounter by encounter, collaboration by collaboration, chance by chance, and experience by experience because I felt they all signified something important; something special I hadn't realized about myself and my purpose. About where my journey has been heading, and how I've been responding to the pitstop destinations in the process. Thinking of my encounters and experiences as symbols to greatness, rewards, and recognition because I've reached a spotlight of my very own that represents notoriety for my contributions and achievements that I don't want to see go dim. No matter how perilous or daring these exploits may be, I always charge ahead with whimsy in my pockets and courage in my heart knowing I can meet success each time with a firm handshake. Nostalgia and future shock both hit me as I get to showcase what I've been working on with my art again at @gswellmural

My creativity will always be my main source of communication... Often overthinking and overanalyzing every little aspect of my escapades/misadventures in which I feel my presence was needed or a change was created from my presence. A speciality I thought was actually problematic, when in actuality, acts as a guide for me to use as my internal compass. Allowing me to think of, search, and find what truly aligns with my soul's trajectory through transitions and transformations from what I become a part of. Going in alone or part of a collective, what I delve into, seek out, or accomplish has depth and meaning because I honored my commitments to the end of their chapter. And watched what I chose to touch blossom into existence like reaching a nearly impossible goal you thought would take time as a child. My mind accelerating as I think of my next choice of words and delivering them with the right kind of intense, but impactful tone. Radiating experience and vulnerability because it comes from a place of truth and reflection. Then, by using my words as the starting point, the chapter of the story can begin to take form visually. When creating the visual story about what I've been through or what someone else has gone through, depicting it comes with having to decipher my imagery and settings because they may be a reflection of my stories, but they are also hidden subliminals and symbols meant to either distract you from the big picture or keep your eyes drawn to more than one thing that's happening. Sometimes pondering if what I do, what I talk about and who I talk to has a purpose to a certain degree. A catalyst effect in effect that shows a speedy or gradual change I or others may not notice until it is born into reality. I see myself as that "effect" and the work I continue to do rebounds off of that. As if my presence... is the change... And with that, I say "be the change you want to see in this world."

At some point in time I realized it was people that tried to change me. Mentally and physically with their persuasive or observant choice of words. Filling my head with false hope, worst case scenarios, and sometimes the harsh truth. I know what the world was and is like. As well as encountering my fair share of the different labels of society I've wandered past or interacted with. My reality is most definitely different from other people's reality. And trying to change or alter anyone's perspective would not only be unwelcoming at first, but met with very much resistance. The memories I kept intact from my experiences serve as turning points involving my growth or dimmed light. Battles and wars I went into sometimes without thinking, without a game plan, being spontaneous as I went along, or because it was justified. I'm not sure what the number count is concerning my wins and losses, but I know I still made change occur regardless of the outcome. Here's my newest artist feature in @visualnoiseny magazine! I take a hiatus from time to time whether or not of my choosing to focus on other aspects in my life aside from art and my many other passionate professions. However, my writing stays with me at all times to capture every detail that my eyes consume and every moment that my mind realizes... For clarification, I was on the rise and in my element checking off my dreams and aspirations like I was on a never-ending expedition involving creating the life I envisioned as a youth and I did, but chaos would suddenly erupt within my spontaneous sphere of creativity. Different stubborn and abravise outside forces would sometimes want to co-exist with me, interrupting and interfering with my plans set for manifestation and succession. Causing me not to run away in fear, but to observe head-on with an open mind. Hidden antagonists and circumstances are everywhere and disguise themselves in sheep's clothing; trying to change your outlook and perspective on how you perceive the world to be. Thinking they know you or know what's best for you. And for a long spell, I believed them, and it still stays with me. But that internal suffering, it was built up into fuel to amp up a movie-script derived, inner-child driven body of work for me to continuously depict. Not always through my art, but with my insightful words and other forms of expression and individuality. At times we may not get the closure we wanted or needed, but that's when you should muster up the courage to create the closure you desire...
I have a group art show running at the @culturelablic over in Long Island City! It's still running from now until December 14th, so if you're in the area or want to collect some art that relates to you and your similar stories, come on over for a vast gaze into the unknown, but familiar and inviting...

Words can't express how much fun I experienced last Friday night at the Cannavita Dispensary Exhibition fellow art thespians and art lovers alike. From extraordinary walks around the neighborhood to meeting the one and only Street Legend, @cornbreadthelegend
It was a night to be seen and to be heard. I enjoyed hearing from other artists speak about their stories, their backgrounds, and upbringings into the art world. I had a chance to speak about myself, but declined on a whim. Probably because I wanted to hear stories that aren't mine own; something absolutely parallel from me, but still palatable. And I was completely dumbfounded that thee Cornbread showed up! I mostly enjoyed just being there for the ride and exploration in new terrains as well as making another "I was here" mark in Astoria. More prepared and better revitalized, speaking about my progression seems like a walk in a park to me, or in my case, a walk in a park at sunset with luminance night lights starting to brighten up the sky as the night begins to set, and my favorite songs from my playlist starts to fill my brain with a dopamine rush of good vibes and adrenaline. That's the kind of rush I'll deliver at my next show with a more eloquent way of telling my story...

I miss the actual turnout, but not the afterparty! To be clear, I missed "BAM RED DOTS!" but, not "NYC Stories". I was there! 😊 So, I was sick and was indisposed for reasons beyond my control, but now looking back, I'm wondering if those involved could be held responsible for wasting my time and energy. But now, back, better rested, and revitalized, I had another chance and opportunity to showcase my previous intertwined sequence of life stories that describes how I've been progressing through my characters, their development, and their roles in my current phase or evolution as an artist.
