Nothing says “summer goals” quite like a big, hearty bowl of Pakhala – the Odia elixir for beating the heat!
Today, we celebrated Pakhala Dibasa the right way – family, stoneware, and a spread that could make any foodie weak in the knees!
Our Pakhala was a crispy-fried carnival featuring:
🥭 Cooling Pakhala with curd, raw mango, and a hint of ginger
🍆 Brinjal fry (because no Odia meal is complete without it!)
🍅 Tomato fry – the unsung hero of the plate
🥬 Saga fry – for those leafy green vibes
🍌Raw banana, 🍠pointed gourd & 🥔jackfruit fries (crispy happiness!)
🥒 Fresh cucumber – because balance is key A sprinkle of salt 🧂 and a fiery kick of green chilies 🌶️& lemon 🍋 to keep things interesting!

It was a pleasure to be part of INTACH’s re enactment of Mahatma Gandhi Epochal Padytra of 1934 today.
My grandfather Dr Fakir Charan Das the 1st MLA of Puri from then socialist party ,L and freedom fighter had partaken in the Padyatra with Gandhi Ji then; so it was but natural that I,as an INTACH life member, did not want to miss this opportunity.
We walked from Singhadwar Grand Road Puri to Gundicha Temple.
In Kadua in Gopabandu Daridra Narayana Seva Sangha (managed by Khadi Board) we had our major pit stop where Gandhi Ji spent a night (you can see the hut in this multiple post)

A visit to my friend’s ancestral village this #sunday for a #bhoji ~ catching live fish 🎣, drinking green coconut 🥥 from the tree 🌴 etc ~ reminded me of my childhood days #odisha
