Hi. I think the lighting makes it pinker than it is but hey I wanted to post it. I’ve been drawing a lot, (will post the second Japanese sketchbook eventually) but hey I’m back with oils.
-I love painting so much. Not because it’s easy or always feels amazing (sometimes it’s just pain fr) but I love how it feels to see a painting come together. More often than not I have no idea where to go with it and how to paint at all. But I just force myself to start and it comes little by little. I feel like painting sometimes is making vague decisions (of form or color) just to start somewhere and then spend the rest of the painting adjusting and correcting these decisions until everything is tied together. I’m amazed how sometimes my body and brain seem to know what to do without me being aware of it.
-I would have so many more things to say about painting but really I think anyone could say these things about something they do and are passionate about. Just pick a thing and throw yourself into it, it’s scary to suck at it at first but then it becomes addictive, you won’t care about not being the best anymore and it will teach you some essential things you should know about how to handle your human brain. Anyway. Messy thoughts.
