Sometime last year a loved one made me an image to use for my logo that I really did love. I being oblivious at the time didn't know that some AI had been used in its production. Unfortunately I learned in a really nasty way after people attacked me so badly on here. I truly had no idea or an eye to see when things were made with that. Once I learned it I realized that while well meaning, I needed something new created by an artist and it was a perfect time to truly incorporate so much of what is behind my business name. @storyformi helped me come up with an idea and generously made me a rough sketch.
Insert @belly_crochet_ . She was recommended to me to create an illustration to use with my logo. I had to be patient because she wasn't available when I asked but now I see why. I didn't even show her that initial rough sketch. She took the time to really incorporate everything I wanted in this. A curly Afro Latina crocheting with a fox and giraffe plushie to represent my boys Diego and Dante born and gone too soon, and a 🌈 bracelet to represent my living child Elias and the baby I lost before him. This sketch is so emotional. Crochet has been instrumental to my healing first from a rough rona era post partum period and then even more with the tragic loss of my sons. I cannot wait to make all the marketing materials for events and more.
Thank you always for following along and thank you so very much to the crochet friends I have made through this account. I so wish we weren't all so far from each other because you have been such an awesome support system in your own way. Thank you for accepting me as I am and embracing me even when I talk about our tragedy. You have helped me not feel so much of an imposter in this crochet world!

Hey hey hey! It's been a long time since I did one of these intro posts and lots more people have come over so it's time!
I'm Beverly, the face behind at the cute things you see posted here. My crochet journey feels like a whirlwind but I love it. I don't post myself much and I have been working on even trying to post every day but I work full-time, life gets crazy, and lots of solo parenting stretches wear me down. Editing and being a content creator is my least liked thing from my business, I'd rather be crocheting. Kudos to everyone keeping up with that.

This sound isn't my usual vibe but it was too perfect to pass up! There's something extra special about wearing an item you made with your own hands. Like how did I turn yarn into this just with a crochet hook and my hands?! This yarn is extra special too because I bought it in Paris when we went for the boys' due date/my birthday. I spoke in French at the local yarn store to buy it and was so proud of myself for putting all my practice to work. There's just so much tied into it.
I found this design from @moonartescroche while randomly scrolling and love that it's a 4 in 1 top. I'll post pics when I wear it the other ways too. Open back styles are also usually outside my comfort zone but I really want to work in feeling confident again and feeling good overall.

Part 1 of who knows how many... I started working on this top-secret birthday project a few weeks ago, and only my sister and husband know the details. Unfortunately, then I hurt my hand and couldn't crochet for a stretch, which really slowed my progress. This design is very ambitious for me, but one of my favorite things about crocheting is how much it pushes me to try new things.
Has crochet become my personality? Basically, yes, but it is one of the few things in life where I feel I have control. Stay tuned for updates. I think I can do them weekly for now, but we will see... If you don't see a post after a week, you have my permission to bug me about it so I can be ready for June 28!

Winter... The season that rips the will to live away from me. I'm an island girl and this season just is not for me in any way. I tried to embrace it this year but it seems it doesn't want to let go. I really struggle immensely with my mental health in the winter. I only like when it snows because then I can play with my son in it. Otherwise the cold dreary cloudy days are not for me.
All that said I have enjoyed some winter makes especially the little yeti. I hope to make a larger one for winter later this year.

I was really excited for this prompt today because I believe I have the most perfect make for it! This guy is such a great decor piece for your door in the fall. I really enjoyed making him even with how tedious it was. It was just so nice to watch it come together.

Spring the season I'm not sure we even have anymore these days. I love spring because of how it is literally a breath of fresh air after being cooped up all winter. I always say I'm just a plant with responsibilities because of how much I need sunshine. I really enjoyed making these flower and plant plushies. Usually my #WIP stash has a bunch of plushies waiting for me to embroider their eyes or add final details. Unfortunately, whatever I did to hurt my thumb recently is still bothering me. It teases me into thinking it is back to normal, and then the pain comes back. I really need it to go because I have A LOT more granny squares to make for my 40th birthday project. Here is the only one I've been able to make this week. Not being able to crochet everyday and for this long is really upsetting 😭😭
