@dazed 2026 Spring issue, I had the chance to write on how baile funk keeps powering through an exotic gaze globally and a conservative agenda in Brazil — often underpinned by racism, classism, and daily violence — only to flourish again and again as one of the most inventive, raw, and provocative sounds today.
