Tapestry wasn’t used much in fashion in the 00’s era however, the bold use of picture imagery on garments screams 2000’s aesthetic. Besides y’all know I had to give y’all something that was neutral colored.
The magazine of homage tonight is EBONY magazine. Ebony magazine is more than a magazine it’s a culture archive of us. From fashion and Lifestyle to black excellence and entertainment, EBONY has remained a staple in our culture and history.

What is homecoming or the 00’s era without the varsity jacket? A timeless piece that can be worn in any era. Trends change but style goes nowhere, no matter how you style it the varsity jacket will forever be a staple.
The first magazine of homage today is The Source magazine. While it did gain traction in the 90’s due to its influential impact on Hip Hop music, the Source went to new heights in the early 00’s because of the expansion into Radio and Tv shows also including The Source Hip Hop music awards.

The Morgan State Jersey Dress was inspired by icons like Mariah Carey and Mya during the 00’s era.
The magazine of homage tonight is JET. A black owned magazine that was a staple for news, culture and entertainment related to the African American culture. I remember seeing that JET beauty of the week stunned lol.

Morgan State Oversized Knit Football Jersey.
The Knit Football Jersey was inspired by 00’s Jersey culture. Jerseys weren’t just worn on the field and on the court it was worn everywhere. From music videos to red carpets. Sports has always been connected to our culture. I wanted to design this jersey with a new age twist with the knitted woven fabric. The oversized fit pays homage to oversized jerseys from that era.
Tonight’s magazine of homage is XXL. The XXL mag is well known for highlighting Hip Hop in the late 90’s while thriving during the 00’s era. XXL played a significant role in introducing us to new upcoming artist and helping them gain the spotlight. This transformed into an entire culture.

OG Rugby Polo
This is my favorite item from this year’s collection. The polo was inspired from the trending polo looks from the 00’s era. Made famous by a plethora of hip hop musicians. This polo fits amazingly and is perfectly cropped / stops at your waist for both men and women. Will be available in sizes XS-2XL.
OG Morgan State SnapBack
Building on the success of last years SnapBack, we decided to switch to the retro blue from Morgan State’s history. Of course it still features the cream / off white color everybody loves plus a 5th year anniversary patch on the left side.
Last but not least this year we are paying homage to 00’s era Pop Culture Magazines this year. Every look book image will start with a magazine from the 00’s. Shoutout Vibe Magazine!

One thing about me and Supream we always want to have a good time. It’s something about that 00’s era music that makes you just feel alive. This is something me and him have been wanting to do for a while, so we were super excited to bring you all this Dj Set.
The Oversized Knit football Jersey Supream is wearing is perfect for this fall. Reminds me of those perfectly baggy jerseys worn in the 00’s. Will be available Friday sizes ranging from XS-2XL.

This video was inspired by one of the most popular songs from the 00’s era. Produced and performed by one of the most influential people in fashion and music Pharrell Williams.
Seeing the original video on MTV and BET shaped how I view music videos as well as story telling as a young boy.
My goal here was to pay homage to a classic music video while incorporating new Morgan State items. Obviously I couldn’t do the whole entire video but we had a ball making it. Thank you to anyone that pulled up to make this possible and special shoutout to Nina and Essy, for starring in this video and being so open to contribute to my vision 🧡💙.

DESIRES X MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY. This collection was inspired by my love for the 00’s era from the icons, music and of course the fashion. Where the items may not be exactly the same each item was designed with the 00’s culture in mind.
With this collection the brand celebrates its 5th collection with Morgan State. This collection is for the real ones who supported when I was moving tees out the dorm and Morgan view. It’s for the ones who pull up every year for homecoming and have the time of their life.
