I just left the theatre from our last rehearsal in tears…overwhelmed with pride for our entire cast, crew and creative team of Shrek. What an undertaking. From bold new ideas and true collaboration, through every rehearsal and into execution… it’s been something really special.
This show is pure joy, heart and hard work. I have no doubt it will sell out.
At a time when this San Diego staple, celebrating over 70 years of supporting kids and their love for theatre needs our support more than ever, showing up truly matters.
Come see the show and experience it for yourself. Watch these incredible young performers shine, operate and keep a full production running. Their passion is exactly why arts funding is so important.
You won’t want to miss it 💚
Thank you @beardzoid@ggghostway@deshac Thank you for trusting and empowering me to bring my creative ideas into the show. It truly meant more than I can say. Being part of something with so many layers (like a good ogre 🟢) was incredibly special!

It's going to take a couple of posts to describe the warmth, comradery, humor, and sheer talent of this cast and team of Mountain Song at @coronadoplayhouse .
As usual, the brainchild of @pigpentheatreco knocks it out of the park with compelling storytelling, gorgeous harmonies, and of course, shadow puppets.
I should have posted sooner, but there is one weekend left to catch this show and it's not to be missed. At a time when we all need encouragement, hope, and a shared sense of community, this show is indeed a healing balm.
Tickets are on sale, discounted, and available at coronadoplayhouse.org

Same holiday, different keyboard! What has become CPH’s annual Holiday Singalong was full of raucous good times, great performances, and glad tidings. Thank you to all of the amazing singers and audiences who caroled along with us this weekend at @coronadoplayhouse . Mah heart is full! Same time next year?
Tonight’s office! It’s been a minute since I’ve had the pleasure of playing in an orchestra at Christmas. Thank you, @mtyree9420 , for the honor of being part of such glorious sound!
A few sneaky tech shots from today. So proud of this crew. We open this Friday, 10/18. Tickets at @blindspotco

It’s been an incredible weekend of amazing imaginative theatre here at @lajollaplayhouse ‘s #wowfestival2023 ! So honored to have worked on both Salty Water for @blindspotco and Jin vs the Beach, LJP’s Pop Tour. I’m so grateful for these artists, friends, and collaborators. Mad love, y’all ❤️
Hey, All-
My updates are few and far between, but this is something newish for me. Company at @coronadoplayhouse is the first show I'm actually in (from soup to nuts) in close to twenty years. What a show to come back to! The cast and band are top-notch, the vision and design are smart and beautiful, and the drinks are strong. I hope you get a chance to see this wickedly wild musical and if you do, let me know you're there so we can toast each other.
For those of you who have already attended, your love and support mean the world to me. I'm so grateful for you.

Heaven welcomed a warrior yesterday. How to describe the energy that is Francine Maigue is difficult to put into words. When I first met Francine she was a literal tornado. She spun out onto the stage of San Diego Junior Theatre in The Wiz, all steel and silk, and took her audience to Oz. For the next 22 years, that same energy spun her around the world and back again. After being a dynamo onstage, Francine proved herself a visionary choreographer and stage director as well. We welcomed her back to JT as choreographer for A Little Princess in 2013 and again as Director/Choreographer for Moana JR. Posted below is just a tiny snippet of her genius. In addition to her artistic prowess, Francine was brilliant at creating community wherever she went. She was a connector. If I needed a choreographer, she had ten names to give me. If I needed an advocate, she had twenty names. I hardly ever saw her without an entourage of sorts; she had that much charisma. She knew and loved everyone, and everyone knew and loved her. Her contribution to the San Diego FilAm and Pacific Islander community is immeasurable as was her fierce love and loyalty to her family.
Francine, we will miss your tornado-energy here on earth, your vision for art and community everywhere you danced, your ferocious advocacy for your tribe, and your love and light that emanated from you always. Heaven’s gain is our loss but how colorful and bright must the heavens be today! And on a personal note, I will miss you terribly, my friend. I will miss our schemes and collaborations and inside jokes and memories. I love you so much. Kahit pa isang libong, my sister.
How do you self-care? Mine comes in the form of farmers’ markets, cooking, and homemade granola bars. After what feels like weeks of work stress, health stress, and re-adaptation to “normal” stress, it was nice to take a breath, reconnect with friends, re-prioritize what’s really important, and drink some good, strong coffee. Mad love and health to you all. Let me know what you’re doing to cope!
So honored by this lovely review! Thank you to @sandiegouniontribune and @blindspotco for spreading this message of light and hope. It’s such a gift to be involved with this! Link for tickets is in the review.
It’s this glamour-goddess’s birthday today and while she would never describe herself thusly, we see her as a superhero superstar stunner who can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and run a marathon after picking up the kids from school. Love and admire you so much, Sis! Can’t wait til we can celebrate together! ❤️❤️❤️
