This is Seth (@crankyhotbees ) with a full frame of local desert wildflower honey — pulled from one of just 12 colonies of tough, locally adapted bees.
“The desert gives us a very short honey season, followed by a long summer dearth. Every jar is hard-earned”, says Seth.
Raw desert honey is a rare treat!

Photographer and author Josh Jackson joins public lands advocate Alicia Pike to discuss The Enduring Wild, Jackson’s journey across forty-one of California’s most striking landscapes.Their discussion reflects on the meaning of public lands in the American imagination—how access, stewardship, and responsibility intersect in a time when natural spaces face increasing pressure. Together they explore how storytelling, photography, and advocacy shape our understanding of preservation and belonging, offering a thoughtful meditation on the role of narrative in protecting the landscapes that define the American West.

One of those places you’re glad you didn’t rush past. 🌴

Tucked in Twentynine Palms, it’s a small pocket of the High Desert where you can grab a great meal, wander through curated shops, linger a little longer, or turn it into an overnight stay.
It also happens to be the quieter way in. Coming through 29 Palms means skipping the main entrance line into Joshua Tree National Park while still having a beautiful place to land before or after the park. Eat well, explore slowly, and give yourself a reason to stay awhile.
