I’m so excited to move into the next decade of my life. Something about 30 feels… right. I’ve waited so long for this—thirty years, to be exact.
I hope, first, that love will be kinder to me and that, in return, I will be softer within it. I hope, too, that I will allow those who love me to hold me, and that they will open their arms to take me in. I pray that my courage will take wings, uproot me from my fears, and guide me toward true freedom and purpose—that my steps will be ordered and that faith will inspire me to soar.
May I continue on in strength but also revel in my own vulnerability, allowing myself to be truly seen, while knowing still that I am not the gaze, nor is the gaze a symbol of my worth.
