Every single opportunity I’ve ever had as a freelance filmmaker started with one message. one conversation. one moment where I decided to just ask.
most people don’t do it because it’s uncomfortable. because what if they say no. because what if they don’t even reply.
But here’s what nobody tells you — the filmmakers who find work aren’t the most talented ones. they’re the ones who show up and ask.
You have nothing to lose. silence is survivable. staying invisible is not.
The most important skill in a freelance filmmaker’s career has nothing to do with your camera, your editing, or your reel.
it’s the courage to shoot your shot.
So send that message. reach out to the artist, the production company, the brand. start the conversation. because nobody is going to do it for you.

Nobody tells you what freelance filmmaking actually looks like behind the scenes. the uncertainty, the hustle, the creative process that never really stops.
i’m not here because i have all the answers, i’m here because i’ve been through enough to share something real — and i’m still learning every single day.
