For the MAAP Equinox EXP, a bunch of us set out to chase the light for 12 hours encompassing 330km with 6400m of climbing. This would be the biggest ride both in distance & elevation by a fair margin for most of us. It’s not often you get to explore the unknown and I was immediately hooked on the idea when @derekvrebel asked me to join with the words - Just do it. The route contained most of the well known climbs in greater Melbourne which are usually done as standalone rides but they all were stitched together into one extra long day. With the weather playing nicely, cramps tempered and the support crew of @gemelise_ , @theprinceofcarltonnorth , we got it done with 8 minutes to spare. If you had asked me five years ago if I’d ever be riding on ZWIFT, I would have scoffed at the idea. Nowadays, I look forward to having some time to myself—pushing into the pain cave with no distractions. The Off the MAAP tour has certainly put me in said pain cave 🥵 The ZWIFT Ride takes this to a new level—a ZWIFT-based platform that allows you to easily set up your position to cater to indoor riding (no more 🦐), seamless shifting, and full control of in-game settings from your bars. The ability to steer the bike in and out of drafts or drop kudos bombs really brings an extra dimension to the experience too!
