Performed by @derekru Filmed by @i.am.a.bachata.traveler Hosted by @treverisdancefestival 🇬🇧 It feels as if every note finds a way through, a way to exist
No matter the genre, no matter the label. Whether it’s bachata, opera, or something else, what moves us never comes from categories, but from that living space where music meets the body, and where, for a few seconds, something deeply human reveals itself. Maybe that’s what we’re really searching for, without even knowing it. Not a performance, not a demonstration, but a sensation. Something that slightly transcends us, that escapes us, and yet somehow belongs to us. And in those moments, art is no longer something we watch. It’s something we feel.

Everyone says deadlifts are dangerous until they learn how to do them. Slow controlled strength is what protects your spine not avoiding movement. I teach people how to lift with precision so their body becomes an asset not a liability. Comment HEALTH if you want the breakdown. #strengthtraining

Your back doesn’t need “more reps.” It needs better physics. On this movement, I’m controlling the resistance curve holding the weight lower for less load, raising it higher when I want more intensity. Tiny adjustments
massive impact. This is how I train: ‱ safer ‱ smarter ‱ stronger ‱ no blown-out backs ‱ no wasted time As a singer and performance coach, I can’t afford injuries. Neither can you. Every exercise you see me do has a modification behind it, there’s always a way to make it fit your body, your technique, your life. Your spine will thank you. Your voice will thank you. Your future self will definitely thank you.

Everyone, everyone thinks the power is in the climax, but it’s actually in the pause, the breath before the sound. This is how I’m exercising everything slow and controlled, focusing on the stillness, but at the highest intensity possible this helps me have a more consistent and even breath.

Think you can build legs like this in just 90 seconds? I do. As a professional opera singer, I don’t have hours to spend in the gym. So I hit one brutal set, 90 seconds of the highest stimulus possible. Then I recover. That’s why I only train 30 minutes once a week. It’s efficient, it works, and it leaves me more energy for the stage and life.

Before & after 😳 a few years apart. Funny thing? 😆In the photo on the left I was actually working out more. Cardio every day. Calorie restriction. Stress through the roof. Now → 1 workout, 30 minutes, once a week. No restriction. No burnout. Just breath-based training, using my breathing to guide the workout, not my ego. Since then: injury-free, best shape of my life, and a nervous system that’s resilient, and calm. I’m a professional singer, Wim Hof Method instructor, and performance coach
.and this shift changed everything. Comment PROGRAM and I’ll send you exactly what I did. #BreathBasedTraining #WimHofMethod #ADHDfitness #SingerStrength #NervousSystemReset #TheExecutiveReset #StrengthTraining

Comment BREATH 👇 and I’ll send you the one breath method that actually changed my singing. I tested 5 different techniques — including Wim Hof, straw phonation, and yoga breathing — and only one actually helped me feel confident, powerful, and centered onstage. Want it? Comment BREATH and I’ll DM you the breakdown. — Derek Rue Professional Tenor | Breath #Coach | Wim Hof Instructor
