WGBH @wgbh is coming to Fitchburg!
Come to the listening session!
Tomorrow, 3/31, 3-6pm
Canvas by CoFF33 Corp
They'll be asking:
What matters to you? They want to hear what you want to know, what you think other people should hear, what you are most proud of and what worries you most.
"In traditional journalism, there are often PR organizations, special interest groups and politicians who send us pitches in the exact format we need. Weāre looking to give everyone the tools, so the door is open for everyone to pitch us. Listening sessions are part of an effort to hear from people who might not know who we are or know how to find us...Listening sessions are meant to be flexible. Our time there consists of getting to know people, hearing stories and learning about the history of the neighborhood...We also welcome questions about how the news works and encourage questions into our work."

After Januaryās Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of @canvasxcoff33corp , we closed out February with an incredible honor.
@derekoneverything and @therealshotyme selected for recognition by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus at their annual Black Excellence on The Hill celebration.
On Friday, February 27th, we proudly attended the award ceremony at the Massachusetts State House - a powerful moment celebrating Black leaders who are making an impact across the Commonwealth.
Weāre grateful for the journey, the work, and the community that continues to support and inspire us. A huge shout out to @mikekushmerek

Man,
What a way to closeout Black History Month!
I don't even know what to say, I'm blown away by and thankful for the recognition šš¾. Being in a room today with 100+ Black Leaders from the Commonwealth and being recognized among them with one of my closest friends is not something I could've imagined.
Doing this work with my best friends, and doing the things we always envisioned almost feels like not work at all.
Gratitude to the MBLLC and Rep Mike Kushmerek for the Honor.
Shout out my Brothers @derekoneverything and @jjordan_churxch
There will be something more formal from @coff33.corp so stay tuned.
Iām deeply honored to share that @therealshotyme and I have been selected for recognition by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus at their annual Black Excellence on The Hill celebration.
Weāre incredibly proud and grateful for the journey and for the community whose support makes moments like this possible.
Join us virtually tomorrow as we celebrate Black excellence across the Commonwealth!

Iāve been really looking forward to this performance at the TDI Celebration at the White Room in Worcester to celebrate creatives in Massachusetts. I was thrilled to be a part of a special night but I was especially excited to have another chance to perform onstage with @derekoneverything (YO DADDY DOE)
We performed this past summer at the River City Rhythm & Rock Fest. We both admit that the performance thatās gotten a lot of attention wasnāt our best. From running the festival itself to injuries, we made it work in that moment. This performance here is a result of growth since then. The spotlight has been on us and we knew we were better than what we gave that day. On this day, we know what we can do together.
If you read this far, not only did Derek perform but he spoke on his experience as CVO of Coff33 Corp and his experience being a Creative City Lead for Fitchburg. We been knowinā
Every path gonna lead to...
I just hope Iām rich in depth.
A Wealth of knowledge for those who I keep close to the chest.
And I fulfill whatās in every breathe.

Two weeks ago, we officially opened the doors to Canvas by CoFF33 Corp, and Iām still taking it all in.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with usāour board members, family, friends, community leaders, Roy Nascimento, CEO and the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Squallia and the City of Fitchburg, and the Fitchburg Creative Cities Partnership, especially Fitchburg Art Museum for giving us the opportunity to lead this work.
As Representative Mike Kushmerek said at the ribbon cutting, itās been a long 10 years. A decade of creative placemakingāmeetings, trainings, getting to know people, learning the story of this place and how our stories intermingle with one another. My work in outdoor placemaking fueled something in me, a desire to create a physical space where community could gather.
Over the past three years, Iāve been listening to what our community has been missing and wanted to bring that to life. I wanted to catalyze our community to take ownership, to have agency over the change they want to seeānot just for themselves, but for the future.
I canāt wait to see what comes to life at Canvas. I canāt wait for you to bring yourselves as the art. Show up as yourself. Be yourself.
This is our third place, our creative space in the heart of downtown Fitchburg, inside the historic Dickinson Building, on a beautiful creative block.
Hereās to what weāll build together.
