Buckley
June 30, 2008 – May 18, 2025.
We said goodbye to Buckley this morning. I don’t know when the correct words will leave my throat, they are stuck there. Certainly not today.
Did I do the misheard lyrics right, @emosocial@theelderemocvlt ?
Anyway, Hawthorne rocks. This song slaps. Birbs are cool. Gardening is for lovers.

Books read October through December: The Buffalo Hunter Hunter, The First Thousand Trees, The Witch of Willow Sound, The Bullet That Missed, Midnight Timetable, The Emissary, Tender is the Flesh, One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This, The Unworthy, and The Serviceberry. All two thumbs up.
To quote a show we watched shortly after we said goodbye to Buckley, the name of which I don’t remember nor do I remember finishing but had a singularly impactful scene, “Everyone said time would help. But it isn’t. It’s been six months. So… It’s not helping. Time is actually making it worse, because it’s taking me further away from when he was here.”
Hi friends. I was let go from Coforma this morning and am seeking new work and would appreciate any leads.
I have spent the last 5½ years working in the social impact and civic tech space working alongside deeply passionate makers to build tools and services that have positive impact on the real lives of real people. I genuinely would like to keep working in this space going forward. Being a part of mission-driven work truly leaves me quite happy and fulfilled at the end of the day.
I have spent the last year working as an technical/engineering director managing a group of 6 way-too-talented engineers while also acting as a tech lead across several projects, and had existed as some sort of tech lead the entire time I was with the company.
I’ve been working in client services / design agency life as a technologist-of-some-sort for nearly two decades. I love working on a bunch of projects all at once for short-ish periods of time. I’m a generalist at heart, and am curious about all the technologies and finding the ways that they will improve our lives.
If you build websites/apps/web-software and are in need of an engineering people manager, project lead, and/or someone who likes being on Zoom & in documentation so other devs can do what they do best (building top shelf products and services) I’d love to chat.
Be well. ❤️
Books read July through September: The Man Who Died Twice, Inventing the Renaissance, audiobook ver. of The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives in Your House, and Mad Sisters of Esi.
Happy heavenly birthday to our baby boy. We love you very much, and cannot articulate how much we miss you and how much our hearts still break every single day ❤️🎉🎂
