Heartbreaking to hear of the passing of Kailee. If you can, please consider donating to support Troy and their girls ❤️ Link in bio to donate or here: https://gofund.me/b97408224
On a lighter note.. In typical Darla fashion she decided to leave us while serving her 10 game suspension. This was the first text I saw after being woken up from surgery and handled it very maturely.
Writing these things for your dog is brutal so I figured I’d come on here and try make all of you sad too… “Don’t worry about the book. It isn’t mine, but I glanced at it”
Darla had been battling cancer and combined with a recent flare up in her pancreatitis it just became too much for her… she went peacefully on a rainy Sunday morning, cuddled up in a warm blanket, lounging on her favorite tempur-pedic dog bed. (She had a bad back)
I’d like to give a special shout-out to Darla’s sitters.. Emily, Allie and Nicole. I liked to think of Darla as a community project but without these three it wouldn’t have been possible. She was as much theirs as mine.
Some of Darla’s favorite things were waking me up for breakfast, searching the North End for leftover pizza and chasing chipmunks at the cabin. My favorite thing about her was how happy she made people as they saw her bouncin down the sidewalk.
I’m so grateful someone decided to give you up. I think I needed you more than you needed me. Bye, Darla
Darla’s dog sitter/photographer is running the Boston Marathon to raise money for cancer research. She already donates all the money she makes dog sitting to this cause (wild) and if she doubles her fundraising goal I could see her pushing Darla in a stroller for the marathon. Link in bio to donate.
