(The cat is actually Darrell M. West @darrwest , a senior fellow in the Center for Technology Innovation at the Brookings Institution think tank and a co-editor-in-chief of TechTank. His current research focuses on artificial intelligence, robotics, and the future of work. He was the John Hazen White Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Brown University. His most recent book is “Lies That Kill: A Citizen’s Guide to Disinformation” (Brookings Press, 2024 with co-author Elaine Kamarck).

Très Mall is an ongoing satirical animation series by American artist Derek Larson, set in a “dying American shopping mall haunted by ghosts of commerce and culture.” Within this surreal environment, characters drift through interviews with artists, theorists, and eccentric figures, interspersed with vignettes of everyday life caught in the continuum of late capitalism.
The screening at PAF Olomouc will present two episodes from the series: Episode 7: Art’s Properties and Episode 5: Violence Entrepreneurs, featuring appearances by Boris Groys, Emily S. Apter, Nicole Sunday Grove, Priyamvada Gopal, Steven Osuna and McKenzie Wark.

Très Mall je satirický animovaný seriál amerického umělce Dereka Larsona. Odehrává se v „umírajícím americkém nákupním centru, kde straší duchové obchodu i kultury.“ Postavy potulující se tímto surreálným prostředím vedou rozhovory s umělci, teoretiky a různými excentrickými charaktery. V mezičasech se vyjevují situace z každodenního života z časoprostoru pozdního kapitalismu.
Na PAF Olomouc se promítnou dvě epizody ze série – Episode 7: Art’s Properties a Episode 5: Violence Entrepreneurs, ve kterých vystupují Boris Groys, Emily S. Apter, Nicole Sunday Grove, Priyamvada Gopal, Steven Osuna a McKenzie Wark.
