While creating this piece I was thinking about artists who fought their wars with mindfulness, intention, and creativity.
The back patch features the Public Enemy logo â made public in 1987 the logo is often mistaken for a cop in the crosshairs, but itâs really a B-Boy. A symbol of how young Black and Brown voices, art, and people were/are seen as the âthreatâ. đŻ
The patches on the chest and collar come from Black Thought of the legendary Roots Crew:
âI ainât one of yâall peers, Iâm the sum of all fears.â
To me, it means embodying everything theyâre afraid of â or becoming the person you are, by facing all fears.
If youâre seeing this today itâs a reminder that our art and expression are revolutionary acts, and we are more powerful than we realize.
