After coming back from filming, I tried recreating our Magic look twice. But stopped because I wasn’t emotionally ready to do so. That is untill La Cynthia had her watch party here in Vegas and thought this was the perfect venue to recreate our look.
When I came on the show, I talked about how makeup was magic for me, it was healing at a time I needed it. I encourage anyone who is going through tough times to find their magic—that thing that sparks joy—cooking, reading, making art, whatever it is that invigorates your passion. Going into this episode, I was riddled with a triggering event—my cast mate
@gabrielspoolie said on the show that he kept seeing me stare into space. I was checked out in episode two and getting back to the hotel, I was in tears. I cried and cried which inspired my iconic river tears makeup. I was in such a dark place that just like what I had been preaching, the opportunity to take magic and use that as a theme for our makeuo with La Cynthia was healing. I could see how happppy and how much fun we had in the makeup process. Even though I was the first person to be eliminated from the competition, I held my head up high because I got to do a makeup look that I’m proud of. Something that is sentimental. Brings smiles. And brought me out of a dark place. Whatever is your magic, keep it close to your heart, have fun with it and stay magical!
