National Pizza Day is officially upon us and it felt like the perfect time to re introduce myself…
I’m Ben and this is how it all started!
Just before lockdown, my mates Justin and Mario asked me to jump on a shift at My Meze and I loved it, like properly loved it! I walked away that day knowing I wanted to do my own thing and two weeks later I bought a horsebox 😬
I went on to learn how to make pizza with Marco Fuso and then well… the pandemic hit, the horsebox wasn’t quite ready so I pivoted and started selling DIY pizza kits instead, I was selling 75 kits three times a week for months and I still have customers buying them now… one absolute legend has bought two every single week for the last six years 🫶🏽
I took the leap and left my buying job at Thackerays, finished the horsebox and started popping up at Grange Park on Friday’s and Buckton Fields driveways on Saturday’s.
After Covid, Weddings really took off and I became a preferred supplier at a few venues, with Huntsmill Farm being the main one, last year alone, 30 of my 50 weddings were there 🤯
Then this is where Dept 68 came in. I’ve known Carl, the owner of the incredible @no.68_coffeehouses dotted around Northampton, for over 15 years. He rang me with an idea and it was too good to turn down. I’d been bringing the horsebox to NO.68 once a month for a while and it was always so well supported, so… here we are!
We’re opening the restaurant at Dept 68 every Saturday (DM us to book) throughout Feb and March, with the hatch open every Wednesday.

How to order:

3️⃣ Browse our pizza menu and choose your favourites
4️⃣ Select your preferred collection time
5️⃣ Place your order online
Here’s some other things you need to know:
🍕 Payment is made on collection like normal
🍕 Ordering opens 2 days in advance, so you can get organised early and secure your slot. Please note, your order still might not be accepted until we open for service.
🍕 Collection time still remains every Wednesday from 5:00pm – 8:30pm
