Karkis of Kumaon is an Archival exhibition set around the lives of a family. The viewer gets to navigate materials, texts and photographs in a space designed like the family’s home. The audience becomes and active participant, holding fragments and activating the archive as a site for questioning their own belongings.
Experience a family’s story, which is as personal as it is universal.

There is something about dressing up kitchens that I love so much.
A kitchen more than any room has the sense of movement involved in it along with the balance of precision.
While dressing it up, one imagines the things the home uses.
A french press, a food processor.
Are we cooking? Let’s buy some greens in the morning.
Chop some Veges, splat some garlic under the knife, the oil dispenser half full, a used napkin on the side, a few cups and bowls washed.
Cooking up stories fast and on your feet, is what i enjoy. All in usually a two hour window or so.
