So, the first quarter of the year, I did a thing. I bet on myself and joined the
@schoolofstyle completing an 8-week course learning from the image architect himself,
@luxurylaw .
I remember when I first moved to Los Angeles in October 2024, I said a prayer one night asking God for some kind of sign that I had made the right move and was headed in the right direction. The next day, I went about my usual routine, and that night, I saw an ad for the School of Style. I was like, Wait a minute⌠lol.
I talked it over with my family and friends, and they were all on board â but a part of me was still a little apprehensive. After just driving across the country and spending so much money on the move, I wondered if maybe I should wait for the next opportunity. I remember sitting in my best friendâs bed, talking it through with her. Sheâs that one person who, if she told me to jump off a cliff, I probably would â lol. She insisted that I go for it.
Before I hit submit that night I said a silent prayer. I asked that, through this program, Iâd gain the fundamentals of what it takes to be a stylist â and that Iâd get the opportunity to meet and learn directly from Law.
Within three weeks, that prayer was answered. I was granted the chance to work on set with Law for Vogueâs May issue honoring the 2025 Met Gala theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. This is a historic moment for Vogue, and Iâm honored to have been apart of it.
On set, I met one of Lawâs former assistants,
@brooklin.ep , who was incredibly welcoming. He took me under his wing and gave me hands-on experience as a wardrobe stylist. I was able to apply everything Iâd learned in real time while completing the course. Literally everything I had prayed for came to life during those eight weeks.
Iâm so grateful for the School of Style, and proud to be a founding member. Thank you to everyone who played a part in the program! To my classmates â we did it. Iâve enjoyed each and every week with you all. Joining this program has been a true reminder of Godâs promise and the power of putting your faith in Him.
