Bania’s musical odyssey began on the dance floors of a small city in Japan, where she first shared her love for music. In 2019, she returned to her hometown, Jakarta, and immersed herself in the city’s vibrant local scene, becoming a dedicated member of Rain Tempo and Bebop Music Collective (BMC). As part of BMC, she’s one of the DJs behind Letters from Venus, a UKG night known for its feel-good energy. Her sets explore the intersection of house, deep grooves, and heavy basslines—seamlessly blended with breaks and heated selections that bring surprises to the ears.

Looking at Ayash’s work makes me reflect on how many instruments from the past still exist around us, yet their presence often fades into the background, overshadowed by time and modernization. These instruments, once central to rituals and communal life, now sit quietly in the margins, rarely played and less frequently heard.
This mixtape serves as a gentle reminder of their enduring significance—a reimagination of their voices and how they might sound in today’s world. It invites us to reflect on what we’ve left behind and consider how these instruments can still shape our present and future.
Thank you for the amazing work @ayash.laras 💥
Ayash is a long active member of the Yogyakarta scene, Ayash’s creative work fuses the visual with the sonic. Besides exhibited her artwork as an artist or working as an illustrator & graphic designer, her enthusiasm in music also led her through DJ-ing for fun. Most of her works are participating in some hybrid activities that often intersects with any kind of art sector or collaborative works.
This mix draws from Ayash’s personal experiences during frequent visits to nearby temples, particularly Buddhist and Hindu temples. It explores a reimagined way of listening to the sounds of the ancestors, visually inspired by the reliefs found in these sacred spaces. Airing tonight live on norrm.com stay tune! 🎙️

Our second mix is here! Baur delivers a haunting soundscape, imagining the soundtrack to a war documentary—chaotic, absurd, and raw.
Listen now via norrm radio.
BAUR is Jakarta-based music producer Aditya Permana (@aditya_permana78 ). The band is defined through its raw, primitive sound, heavily inspired by the home tape recording culture of the late 1980s. BAUR’s music frequently contains fragments of TV and radio news, containing a collage of social and political commentary that leans toward a satirical and cynical context. Reflecting upon the chaotic and polluted environment of Jakarta, BAUR’s long play format often narrates a reality that is gritty and apocalyptic but also containing melancholy and hope.
Tune in to our collaborator @baur_lorong to fill your afternoon saturday
