The year is 2045. All towns are now Dollar Generals. My mini doc about Dollar Generals just dropped. Itâs called Dollar Desert a quick dive into how these stores are popping up everywhere and what that means for small towns like mine.
Iâve been having a blast making short stuff like this. What should I dig into next? Whatâs happening in your town that nobodyâs talking about? #sony #cinematography #fooddesert #videoproduction #fx3 #composition

This event wouldnât be the same without the fantastic local businesses and people who stepped up to support our riders. Screech Owl Brewing turned the hospitality up to 11, offering to keep the brewery open late, hosting riders for camping, and more. Thanks, yall!

The Council of Cryptids has arrived at a decision, crowning Tyler Graf (@tyler.graf ) the #1 Cryptid Hunter.Â
Tyler returned to Chestnut Ridge Park today at 8:06pm in the pouring rain after riding 465 (plus a few extra) miles around Mountaineer Country. He came here to win the Cryptid Scavenger Hunt, and after visiting all 37 locations in 4 days, 12 hour and 36 minutes, he has undoubtedly secured his place atop the Cryptid Leaderboard, as well as being the second person ever to finish the Mountaineer Monster 465.Â
When the mass start left Chestnut Ridge on Saturday, Tyler turned right as everyone else turned left to complete an 8-mile detour to snag the Coopers Rock location, and he hasnât stopped since! Even when he began battling a lung infection and fever today, he did not abandon his mission, heading off-route into Morgantown to visit Hotel Morgan.Â
Sleeping for only 6 hours over 4 nights, including no sleep in the last 36 hours, Tyler has completed what Mothman thought to be impossible. At the end of it all, maybe Tyler was the real cryptid out there in the West Virginia hills. Incredible effort, Tyler!
Mountaineer Monster Grand Depart - Day 4 Recap
The middle distance closed up shop on Tuesday night when Larry Paris (@oldjoeadventureflo ) returned to camp at 7:03pm as our 275 Lantern Rouge. We also welcomed back Charlie Waters (@cwaters1051 ) and @bikebuds.cc in the late afternoon.
On the 465-mile route, we crowned a winner! Jesse Smith (@jesse_bicyclestation ) completed the route in 80 hours and 23 minutes, establishing the FKT for the course. Miro Rakic (@miro_rakic ) put in a great day of riding, but broke a spoke near Bruceton Mills. Without the proper parts and tools to fix it, he decided it was safer to scratch than risk breaking the wheel more or crashing.Â
Tyler Graf (@tyler.graf ) continues to dominate the Cryptid Leaderboard. He put in a good effort on Tuesday, but the miles rolled by slower than he expected. Determined to finish on Wednesday ahead of the rain, he decided to push through the night. Phil (@ricewoods ) and Sam continued their tour of the route on the southern half, ending the night at the bed and breakfast in Rowlesburg.
Jesse Smith (@jesse_bicyclestation ) is the winner of the Mountaineer Monster 465! He arrived back to Chestnut Ridge Park today at 3:53pm. This effort establishes the routeâs FKT at 80h 23m, but Jesse thinks that it can be done much faster by someone willing to ride consistently through the night.Â
Jesse flew to the front of the race off the gun and held his lead for the entirety. He was incredibly fast during the day, but after he shivered his way through the first night, he decided to credit card his way through the rest of the race with lodging in Rowlesburg and Kingwood.Â
He found the route to be very hard, but was never mad at it and enjoyed the riding throughout. He developed saddlesores late in the race, and spent most of the final day riding out of the saddle to keep the pain at bay.
Chapeau, Jesse!

This morning, the Media Team headed for the âMothman Wingâ, a little, oddly shaped figure-8 south of Morgantown on the two longer routes.
They found Mike Harding (@mike_musette ) mashing his pedals as he climbed up a rugged jeep track, weaving from side to side, trying to find a smooth path. After a wild night filled with a motel laundry room bivy and a long detour to get a phone charger, he lost his gps tracker on one of the burly descents.Â
Shortly after, Abe Kaufman (@abe__kaufman ) of the Ramblers duo rolled up without his partner. By continuing on his own, he was no longer eligible for a team or solo placement, but he was determined to try to chase down Mike for the love of the game.Â

The pointy end of the Mountaineer Monster 110 arrived at the iconic Jenkinsburg Bridge around 1pm today. Closed to motor vehicles, this bridge is still open to bike and foot traffic.
Jesse Stauffer (@jesstauffer88 ) was the first man to arrive, and did so with a dropped chain that was quickly fixed before powering on to Masontown.
Maggie Livelsberger (@large_marge03 ) was the first woman, and the only singlespeeder at the entire Grand Depart, to reach the bridge. She blasting music to drown out the rubbing of her front rotor⊠and to scare away sasquatch.

Summer wrap up. Didnât shoot for fun as much as I wanted, but itâs been a different kind of season. First summer running Pry Creative Co., moved my grandparents, started renovating their place⊠itâs been busy, but all good things. Built a solid network and finally seeing the work pay off. Excited to keep the momentum #cinematic #sony #indiefilmmaker #visualstorytelling #LifeInMotion #smallbiz #summervibe #montagemood
