Like every year 2025 had its ups and downs..

Roman, I am deeply sorry and saddened by the tragedy of losing you.. you were like a big brother to Vero, Kathy and I.. we grew up together and spent so many fun summers in TJ with the “cousin gang”.. I will never forget you, and all those memories will remain with me forever .. I’m also going to miss you messaging me every time the Cowboys play the Eagles..
You lived your life with meaning, you were an amazing chef, brother, son, cousin, uncle and friend!..
I know you are at peace now and in a place where you are free.. it was a blessing to have you in my life primo.. you will be loved forever.. keep watching over us and give a hug to our family up there with you ..

We’ve been on this property for over 2 years now, and have been so lucky that we hadn’t had a predator attack.. we know we’ve had foxes come around but they’ve all stayed away from the coop.. sadly we lost 2 of our girls and almost a duck to a fox attack Saturday morning.. we’re incredibly sad and I’m pissed off, but we only have ourselves to blame since we got too comfortable letting them free range on their own..
I heard the flock making an alert call and saw them all running and flying in panic through the yard so of course I ran out there and saw the fox.. I ran towards him screaming and chasing him away into the woods.
We rushed to lock everyone up and realized 2 of our girls were missing.. we followed a trail of feathers and found one of them, but no signs of our other one, so we know she was taken..
we feel like shit for letting them down, we never thought anything like this would happen.. we loved them, especially our little “Cheeky” who was one of our first chicks that we incubated and was super sweet..
we decided to incubate her last 2 eggs and hoping that they hatch!

We are close to the end of summer in Alaska, so that means trying to squeeze in as much outdoor activities before we lose all this sunlight

So much fun spending time with family and friends, Shopping at the mall, Trader Joe’s (which I miss!), clubbing, bars, beach, restaurants, hitting the pool, birthday parties, Big Bear, Galaxy soccer game w/ fireworks.
This weather is definitely too warm for me now 😂
