The last night series from Korea so far. all shots were taken on the way to somewhere from somewhere.
At the end of the series you’ll be treated to a banger - a shot taken through the thick, dirty glass of the observation deck without noise reduction in processing. You may see it as a marriage or you may just find it ugly, but I see it as art 🫰

One morning at Gyeongbokgung Palace. Imagine, just for a moment, that time travel is real — you put on a traditional hanbok and find yourself in Seoul’s grand palace, stepping into the world of the Joseon royal dynasty.

The most important thing I realized during my creative break is that you have to create for yourself first. What I make should, above all, be something I truly enjoy.
The way social media turns artists into slaves of likes really throws off that focus. When you’re actively posting and trying to please everyone just to get more reach, you start to go against yourself — and the result ends up being more for others than for you.

One day, while walking through the streets of Seoul with my camera, capturing everything I saw, I felt the vibe of the old days — when social media hadn’t driven everyone crazy yet, and creativity was something people did sincerely, out of love, not just for likes or money.

You have no idea how fckng amazing it feels to be creative again after 2 years without it and after about 5 years of starting to feel tired of being creative. I’ve now dropped all the attitudes in my head, the patterns and the addiction to activity. I just get high on what I’m doing.
If you get high on what you see too — beat my fist 🤜🤛
I have too many thoughts about South Korea. About how I want to go back 😁 I’ll tell you more about everything later, but right now I want to show you my first photos I took in Seoul.

Trends [A couple of my thoughts]
1/2 — For a year and a half, I didn’t run my social media. I watched it from the outside. I mostly follow creative accounts, so those were the ones I paid attention to. The conclusion isn’t very cheerful.
In today’s world, popularity has taken the main role. And the strange thing is — something becomes popular thanks to people who usually have no real connection to what they’re making popular.
So what do most people like? That’s right — things that are easy to understand and quick to consume.
That’s how trends are born. One person makes something original — but still simple and easy to grasp. It goes viral. Others see it and quickly copy the same idea, creating a trend.
The trend grows even more because people already recognize it. Repetition and familiar patterns make it feel trustworthy, even if it’s just another version of the same thing.
Social media algorithms only make this worse — they push everything toward repetition and simplification.
Today, the creative world is clearly divided into two camps. The first is focused only on making art. These people give it all their energy — always creating, rethinking, exploring new ideas.
The second group plays it safe. They stick to clear, easy-to-digest content and join every trend — because that brings fast and easy attention.

I haven’t been here in a long time — so let’s get to know each other again! By the way, these photos were taken at the famous Jewel terminal in Singapore’s airport.
My name is Den 👋 and chances are you know me as a photographer — I used to shoot a lot of portraits and cityscapes, and I’ve worked with some well-known brands and people.
For the past two and a half years, I’ve been living the digital nomad lifestyle and have spent long periods living in many Asian countries.
That fast pace — always flying and moving — pushed photography into the background. These days, I mostly work in business analytics, tech support, testing, and managing social media for clients.
A year ago, I got overwhelmed with work(I usually handle around five projects at once) that I had no time left for social media at all — or for editing my photos. Though I never stopped shooting, and now my archive barely fits on all my drives.
A few months ago, I felt like I had the energy to come back. Now the main thing is finding enough time to make sure I’m happy with what I share here.
I want to thank everyone who’s still here. If you leave a like or even a comment — that means a lot to me. And even if you just quietly watch my posts — that support matters more than you know.
40,000 steps to walk around almost the whole of Singapore. We walked the evening and night after our flight, all the next day and the next morning before our flight. But we never made it to the ArtScience Museum, so there are only photos of the building itself with very unique architecture in my opinion and a few other street shots.

Street photography in Singapore was very comfortable — the clean streets and modern architecture inspired me to shoot whatever I thought was interesting.

Singapore — Marina Bay
As someone born and raised in Russia, I never imagined I’d one day find myself in a country I only knew from that one scene where Jack Sparrow once sailed to in Pirates of the Caribbean. It looked… different in the movie. That’s why it brings me so much joy to finally share my own photos from this distant Asian harbor.
By the way, the short answer to where I’ve been — I had so much work that I didn’t even have a chance to do anything creative. But as soon as I saw an opportunity, I came back — and I hope I’m staying for a while this time.

More than two years in the life of a digital nomad. Over 10 countries, 40 flights and 70 rentals. Well, I guess it’s time to come back here and start telling my story.
P.S. My journey is still ongoing 🛫
