Dr. Emily Levesque!!! @emsque Our bookclub of more than 25 yrs loved reading your book, The Last Stargazers, @thelaststargazers ! We had so much fun discussing all the different types of telescopes, their locations, and the amazing feats of perseverance and courage from astronomers. They braved blizzards, gunfire, earthquakes, explosions and more!! As we say in engineering, “It’s a miracle that anything works-EVER!” That certainly seems to also be true for astronomy and telescopes!
I caught myself gasping and laughing out loud while reading.
For our bookclub meeting, I dressed in my pj flannel pants, with my bear claw slippers (loved the story about the bear getting into the observatory!!) and was ready for “night lunch” of soup and sandwiches- gotta stay warm! 😀
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and story-telling!

I encourage anyone who needs some positivity and would like to know the behind-the-scenes scoop on astronomy and how it has changed over the years to get Dr. Levesque’s book.

Sandy Bonilla!! She is a rockstar! My mom moved here March 30th and has been working hard to get acclimated to Colorado life. So many changes and things to do, but she has been incredibly patient and good spirited.
My mom now lives by the lake in our community and so we get to walk together several times a week. She has been able to see her grandsons numerous times including watching her oldest grandson graduate from college. We’ve been to bookclub, had lunch w a friend visiting from SS, and have even been able to attend the opera!
Thanks to all of you for your prayers as we made the move. We are so happy to be together and look forward to lots more adventures!
