LIVE ON NTS 2️⃣ TONIGHT AT 11PM / 2300 EDT… is a dedication to some of my favorite music of all time… i’m talking NO FUTURE + RIOT CITY (+ BEAT THE SYSTEM, PAX, some CLAY, RONDELET, etc…) i’m talking PUNKS + SKINS… the UK’s hardcore, the second wave of UK punk, or as most know it, UK82 !! some songs on here are some of the first i ever heard when i got into punk, others were introduced to me like 15 years ago when i started to go mad trying to buy every no future or riot city single with the ian glasper burning britain book and gabesuk82.blogspot.com as my bibles… life will never be the same… like the intro to the skinhead rocknroll’s damned ones vol. 2 book reads… “music, clothes, fanzines, sleepless nights, nothing else mattered. now that the dream is gone i have to stick to this reality.” (@cool_hiss and my favorite quote) anyway, this is just an hour of me playing some records in my bedroom, i don’t talk at all, we did enough of that last time… and will again in the future… as always this will be archived tomorrow and hopefully online until we are all dust!!!! 🚨 TONIGHT TONIGHT TONIGHT @ 11PM (23:00 HOURS) EST ON NTS CHANNEL 2️⃣ is the DEMYSTIFICATION RADIO HOUR… featuring our friend CC!! this week we have a hyper special episode playing some rare, live, or demo only NYHC (plus one nj with nyc ties + the bad brains who will always be from wash, dc) all straight from the archive of our good friend chris corry, or cc, as the world knows him. he’s been involved in many bands (currently: bygone, sin offering, lifeless dark, etc. // historically: no tolerance, mind eraser, step forward, stop and think, magic circle, invasion + much much more), he’s been involved in releasing and recording and mixing some of your favorite things, and has an encyclopedic brain for hardcore punk music (he was one my early obscuro hc teachers, i was LOCKED in on him and aj’s bidhardcore website every single day in my youth. bring back google reader / death to substack) anyway, cc brought us so many great tracks and in this episode we only got to play 12 of them and to talk about 11. we go in deep and with time, i know we coulda gone in deeper!! NEW IN WEBSTORE (SNOW DAY EDITION): CORE OF REALITY #3 always my most anticipated mail day is when the new core of reality shows up and this issue is INCREDIBLE, wonderful interview with WEDGE of inmates and h100s and more where he tells the story of punching morrissey and drops general tidbits (legit gasped many times). there’s also an interview that i loved with modern legend carter holmes of @fromwithinrecords and a west coast tour journal by mr. dan worn himself. also featured is a great interview with chris ringworm about the early days of the band, and more. i love this fanzine and you should too!!!! NEW IN WEBSTORE: SUPERSTARS ONLY #6 & CONSUME #7 long time no talk, it feels insane to sell stuff as the world burns around us and the evils prevail with no visible end in sight… but we have some new stuff in the webstore… 💡 SUPERSTARS ONLY #6: the wunderkind have returned w a new installment of one of the funnest mags going. i’m still wrapping my mind around this issue, the way its laid out will leave you jumping from page to page following the endless threads it weaves. it’s really beautiful and beyond what my tiny brain could imagine. the best part about opening a new cool mag (the same w hearing a new song, seeing a dope painting or eating a good meal) is that it reminds you that other worlds are possible and what we as people can do are endless (but not in some sicko crypto fascist transhumanist way). this issue includes an interview w artist maggie lee, the analyzing of a deranged landlord’s emails, a transcription of an amazing fortunetelling tiktok live, a photo series of amazon reviewers uploaded photos, and so much more!! 💡 CONSUME #7: this is actually somehow my first issue of this grand rapids hardcore punk fanzine but i really really enjoy it. it features an interview with our own @crucialjohn , i talk to him every day but he’s still full of mystery that guy, incredible mind. also featured is a lot of simpsons and ralph bakshi talk, a bunch of show reviews and interviews with TOTAL CON of the UK and THE BERSERK of phildelphia. the berserk interview features a teeny bit of a lie though… in it their drummer pj says he’s never been interviewed before… so i guess the time we spent in my camry in november of 2013 meant nothing… (as can be read in neighborhood life #1) oh, also, there’s some backstory to the cryin ryan lore that had me dying on messageboards in the previous decade. i remember there being a grainy video and a lot of jokes made about how he’d use whiskey to numb his pain from a tooth extraction and whether that was sxe or not. i love hardcore so much, there is truly nothing like it. go buy consume 7 and then lets go demand number 8 and 9 and 10 and beyond!!!
