“I apologize on behalf of myself and the American people. And I want to assure Norway and everyone around the world, that it doesn’t represent us. It is not the values that my parents taught me.”
More than 100 people braved the bitter cold to gather at Youngstorget in Oslo, Norway, on 28 January. We came with signs, candles, poems, and heartfelt messages of support and solidarity.
The names of all the victims of ICE and CBP in 2026 were read aloud as their photos were displayed for all to see.
We ended the vigil by singing We Shall Overcome.

Due to Trump’s new travel ban, the spouses & CHILDREN of US citizens from a list of countries* can no longer legally enter the US.
But the children of US citizens ARE legally US citizens. They will have to file US taxes every year, but yet can’t enter the US. 🤦♀️
A lot of Americans do not understand how difficult it is to bring a foreign spouse to the US legally. The process takes years of living apart while waiting for a visa.
