Came back from Paris to do a lil mural update for @easportsfc and @premierleague this past week 🖤🤍 thankful to have the help from my friends and fam on this one :)

it’s not often that I create pieces and gain family during the process. the journey of this piece made the artwork so much more special to me when i finished. i remember making it right around the time i moved to Paris last year. i missed my NYC family and community so much when i was left, but it took me leaving to understand how important they were/are in my life. it was a blessing to work with @saidesilva and her beautiful family on this, I realized they too became an addition to my nyc family. there were days I dreamt of being able to paint and travel the world. and in all the stresses and chaos I go through, I remember i’m right where im supposed to be ❤️ — Mother and Children 48in x 60in 2024 This painting represents the beautiful relationship between a mother and her children. The intrinsic between them is an unspoken bond that ties them together no matter the space or distance. it’s within that connection which lies the mother’s truest and purest purpose.

Feeling so much love and gratitude with this one. Came back to the Bay and did a mural in my hometown for @parkstationbeer opening next month. Grateful for all of my family coming together to be a part of this, it was a recharge for my soul 🇵🇭❤️🎨

Back in March, I started this journey of growth and healing in preparation for my first Solo Show, “Homecoming” in San Francisco, CA. During a time of deep grief, the unwavering support of my friends and family gave me a renewed sense of purpose. The show not only became a body of work that was a testament to my grandparents’ legacy, but a shared celebration of life for my closest family and friends. Coming back home to see my grandma, who was unwell, coincided with preparations for my first solo show, “Homecoming”, here in San Francisco. Her unexpected passing during this time deeply shifted the meaning of “Homecoming.” It became far more than my first exhibition back in my hometown; it evolved into a tribute to the enduring legacy of both my grandmother and grandfather. The past month has been a period of intense healing, grief, and focused work, all dedicated to honoring their memory through this body of work. I am profoundly grateful for the incredible support of family and friends who traveled from across the country to be present for this significant occasion. Words can’t fully express the depth of my gratitude for their unwavering support, which was essential in pushing this show across the finish line – it truly took a village! This exhibition is a heartfelt dedication to my family and friends. Your presence and belief in me are immeasurable, I feel so blessed. I love you all deeply. Thank you for making my “Homecoming” so profoundly special. ❤️

The journey comes full circle :) I’m beyond thrilled to announce my debut solo show, ‘Homecoming’ back in the Bay Area. This body of work is a testament to healing and growth— I can’t wait to share it with you. I’m so grateful to have this opportunity with @glass.rice to help tell this chapter of my story 🇵🇭 — Save the date for ‘Homecoming’, Demit Omphroy’s debut solo exhibition with the gallery, opening Saturday, April 12 from 6-8 pm! Conceived in the wake of personal loss, this body of work emerges from a period of solitude and introspection following the passing of the artist’s grandmother. Returning to his late grandparents’ home in Alameda, CA - a place imbued with personal and generational history - Omphroy transforms the space into a temporary studio, allowing memory and his artistic practice to intersect. In ‘Homecoming’, Omphroy engages painting as both a meditative and reconstructive act. His use of bold color and expressive forms serves as a visual lexicon for navigating grief, absence, and the search for solace. The works, marked by a sense of immediacy and emotional clarity, reflect a deeply personal yet universally resonant exploration of loss and at times, moments of joy within the darkness. Viewers are invited into this intimate exploration - to witness the emotional weight embedded in each work and reflect on the universal resonance of remembrance.
