When I started this series, I thought I was just focused on butterflies…the patterns, the repetition, the detail.
They were on my mind for a while and I didn’t think much of it. I always just paint what I want in the moment.
Looking back, I see what was actually happening.
Internally, I had a lot of changes going on, and I was being pushed to refine my character , I could feel God working in my heart to refine me and polish me to become better version of myself … to prepare me to step in my assignment.
things I used to be okay with, and ways I used to operate just didn’t resonate with me anymore
If you’re on the journey of levelling up, you know that some habits and ways of thinking just gotta go.
Some of it just doesn’t belong in the next version of your life.

I almost ruined this artwork by trying to control it.
I was over working parts of it — fixing the texture cleaning things up and trying to make it feel more finished and polished. And it just felt kind of off. The gold, the raw areas… It only started to make sense once I stopped, forcing certain things and left it how it was. That’s what gives this work presence in a space. There’s a point where more control doesn’t make something better and it’s having the discernment to realize that.

There’s a difference between pressure and responsibility.
Pressure comes from trying to control outcomes, and having things always go your way . Obedience comes from trusting direction. God will show you where to move, but it is up to you to be willing to take action and follow His direction ✨
I’m getting rid of this painting . And for a bunch of reasons , but main one being safety cause it’s so damn heavy and .. I’m inspired to refresh the wall and get to painting another masterpiece !!!
My original thought was to tear it up and use it for a bonfire 🔥.. but I’m rethinking this and how to possibly salvage it . Could I possibly break up the painting into smaller canvases in a Mixed media format ?
