I got asked with a 7 hour notice if I could show up and shoot this recording session for the @mothermarymovie and it was an opportunity that felt too special to pass up. I had shot Jack earlier in my career at Radio City so I had something to break the ice with as we were crammed into a very small nyc recording space - later on he showed me a polaroid collection of his own and his button maker.
We talked about talked about zodiac signs and Anne’s love for interior design - Anne was every bit of ethereal and kind as one would expect, all while being wildly creative and driven during vocal takes. Her dynamism and love for craft was so apparent.
A memory of a very special experience for me in the city.
When I was 21 I maxed out an AMEX and started my first production company. I still remember exactly where I was and how it felt outside when I decided to quit my job painting houses. That single risk changed my life completely. 7 amazing years later and we decided to gut the entire thing and start fresh - a leaner, more creative, and more human-centered company.
This project was all about being formless, how could we create a production brand in a new age of media and consumption that’s ethos was strong but also incredibly nimble?
I truly believe we can do anything.

When I first moved to nyc the Natural History Museum was one of the first places I landed. Seeing landscapes I grew up in in the West against an urban backdrop made home feel new and far away in such a comforting way. When @spencerphipps asked me to shoot this campaign I was through the roof. Recapturing that feeling of walking around New York, when the only pressing question is where to eat and what to drink, was the goal of our time with Russell and a feeling I am always trying to bottle up and revisit.
