Delta Community is proud to sponsor the @atlantanewsfirst Books to Kids initiative. Our second sponsored Books to Kids segment of the year was recently held at Jolly Elementary School in Clarkston.
All students, pre-K through fifth grade, received backpacks filled with five grade appropriate books, along with items like bookmarks, highlighters and pencils. In total, 3,715 books were distributed during the event.
Since launching in 2016, Books to Kids has provided more than 109,000 books to over 20,000 students across 31 metro Atlanta schools. We are honored to support a program that makes reading so much fun.

Mrs. Shukla teaches science to 5th and 6th grade students and brings joy, kindness and excitement into her classroom. From greeting students with a warm smile in the hallway to making lessons about the sun and stars come to life, she creates an environment where students feel welcomed and inspired to learn. Her compassion extends beyond the classroom as she looks out for her students and supports them in meaningful ways.
