Do you know this guy? Well, when he’s not walking around Richmond with guff on his head making music vids or ordering sporks about he plays guitar for Mark Seymour and produces albums for artists (me included). His name is Cam McKenzie and he’s very good to watch/listen to aannnd he’s joining me with a 3 piece band at @social_club_balnarring Sunday May 17 alongside @jeffconsi and @rob.hornbuckle . As this line up we will be doing some first album deep cuts along with some current tunes off the last two albums. So to my #peninsular pals pen it in yer diary’s and see ya at the bar! 😘

🥰🥳 How incredibly lucky to have spent time with these superb, slightly unhinged creators recently. And these are just some that I have remembered to take a photo of while we capture their grace! I’m really enjoying this strange little investigative chapter of my career. Pausing the creating myself, or at least attempting to wrestle it into a chair and say “not now”, and instead tweezing out these sweet, odd bits of wisdom from others 😘 This film, Where Does Your Music Come From? is getting there. It still feels like a long skinny balloon sitting in the packet but I can sort of see the potential shape. It’s mostly just… flappy rubber nothingness now, with some promise 🧐 Slowly, though, it’s being inflated. Twisted. Redirected. Not always gracefully but because of these people, their words, and the unexpected turns this film keeps taking. 😌 Heck knows why I’m using a clown and balloon reference here? Maybe a hot air reference? But yeah, this balloon won’t be a dog made by a clown at a kid’s party. No offence to the dog, maybe to the clown though?! This is something else. A bird, perhaps... A slightly off bird. One that flies high, straight into the rays of the sun and, against all known balloon-based logic, does not melt! 😶‍🌫️ I genuinely can’t wait to get this into the edit. What we’ve got so far is… delicious. Strange. And I’ve made some faarking wonderful mates! And honestly, what a bizarrely perfect time in history to be making a piece of fabulous art about art. FART! About the way it appears. Slips out. Refuses to behave while as usual, the fat cat takes the lions share and the consumer continues to do so without any hesitation in giving a hoot where the art came from initially… or do they?
