Two students from Manchester Fashion Institute, @delseam_ from BA Fashion and @jasminetheakellyfashion from BA Fashion Design and Technology, recently took their work to an international audience at @globalfashiongraduateshow , South Africa 2025 in Cape Town from 21 to 23 October. The showcase was created with Arts Thread and the Cape Town Fashion Council and brought together emerging designers from leading fashion and art schools. It became a space for creative exchange, open conversation and cultural discovery. Reflecting on the experience, Kat Scott, MFI International Lead, shared that the team was proud to see Rhodel and Jasmine represent Manchester Fashion Institute and @manmetuni at the event. Colours, movements, and spontaneity of the festival, informed the visual direction of this collection. “Conducted print research by photographing local street murals and graffiti, developing them into prints using varied printing techniques, including digital printing and screen printing.” From Oct 21–23, the UNESCO City of Design became the new capital of fashion futures, as Global Fashion Graduate South Africa 2025 brought together emerging designers, educators, and global industry leaders for three days of runway shows and powerful conversation.
