Please help us give a huge welcome to Lauren Joy Herley as she joins the coaching team at De Leon Dynamics! Lauren is an internationally renowned circus artist, aerialist, contortion specialist, choreographer, and instructor with nearly 30 years of high-level acrobatic training and almost 15 years of international performance experience. Originally from Seattle, Washington, she began training in artistic gymnastics and ballet at just six years old before continuing her education and professional career in Montreal at the prestigious National Circus School. Throughout her incredible career, Lauren has performed with world-renowned companies including Cirque du Soleil, Les 7 Doigts de la Main, Cirque Eloize, and CIRCA, while also appearing in international galas, productions, and special events around the world. Her accomplishments include performing in the 2010 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, PIPPIN on Broadway, Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain, Cirque du Soleil’s BAZZAR, and many more. Lauren specializes in aerial rope, silks, hair suspension, contortion, flexibility, acrobatics, artistic movement research, and choreography. Beyond her extraordinary performance résumé, what excites us most is her passion for teaching and helping students discover their artistry, confidence, and potential. We are incredibly honored to have Lauren sharing her knowledge, creativity, and experience with our students and community. Did you know… the @american_circusfest just held its 5th annual competition April 22-23 in Temecula, California under the @circusvargasofficial big top?! Modeled after European circus festivals, there were 17 acts from 6 countries that included adult professional and new generation acts. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals were awarded along with a number of Special Prizes. There was also a forum on the future of Circus in America. Two members of the @americancircusalliance Board of Directors, @highflyingabigail and @jessicahentoff , were there to serve on the forum about the future of Circus in America. Another board member, @nicole_y_flores _ ,had a student from her @deleondynamics school competing in the festival. The first night was a competition show and the second night was a gala featuring the winners. Both evenings were ringmastered by the incomparable, @lastringmaster .
