I released this as part of the (ironically titled) “Greatest Hits” compilation to mark the ten year anniversary of my first album, on my birthday in 2017.
This esteemed mix - A Decade Of Dekay - had a track from every project I had been on so far, including a bunch of new bonus tracks to keep things fresh. (Side note; can you believe it will be the 21st anniversary on May 1st!)
One of these bonus tracks was Cheap Vodka, featuring my off key humming as part of the melody on the beat.
Now I can’t tell you why I chose this one over the others, only that it was the one I would listen to again the most.
It sums up how I was thinking at that time, and the laid back verses contrast nicely with the comically aggressive chorus (usually I do that the other way round!)
P.S. Don’t drink cheap vodka.
The most dramatic weather changes I’ve ever seen, from blue sky and sun to an orange level warning storm with dust in the air and being warned not to go outdoors. In a matter of days. Jumping in a freezing cold pool. Eating great food. Going up the mountain in a coach that felt like it would fall off the cliff. Santorini = #epic 💙🤍🇬🇷
