“OK some history on this holy batch of physical media. The beautiful people at @dekanalog asked us if we’d be interested in making a blu-ray of Snowy Bing Bongs. We said we’ve wanted a blu-ray of bing bongs since the day we were born. They asked about special features. We said we can load this thing up like nachos. We’ve got cocoon gold for miles. We can make this an ARCHIVE OF COCOON CENTRAL DANCE TEAM. They said how about a 7” of the soundtrack, we said how about 10 inches. We asked how many pages the little booklet thingy could be cuz we wanna cram that baby full of nachos. We asked the beautiful angel @bejohnce to interview the cocoons (for the booklet) about their love for each other and the history of bing bongs live and the adaptation. He declined. Just kidding he did it! And we got a cool piece from @emilyyoshida in there from 2017. You guys, I love all of this so much. We’re all spiraling into a gunky sink here in 2026, but snowy bing bongs is where you can find joy. At least that’s true for me. xoxo”

Brazilian writer-director Gabriel Mascaro dives into the dystopian yet deeply life-affirming world of The Blue Trail, his genre-blending new film about 77-year-old Tereza, an elderly heroine who refuses to quietly disappear from a society that literally ships its seniors away in “wrinkle wagons.” Mascaro traces how the film grew from the late-life creativity of his own grandmother into a playful, visionary journey through the Amazon, where blue-snail visions, road-movie textures, and speculative politics collide to imagine aging as an awakening rather than an ending. Along the way, he explores how Brazilian cinema is reimagining the future, why centering older women on screen is a radical narrative choice, and how atmosphere, sound, and performance (including Denise Weinberg and Rodrigo Santoro) become tools for empathy, resistance, and dreaming new futures together. 💙🦋🐌🐚
