This event is over 70% sold. Ultra was sold out, but limited additional spots have been added. We expect Age Group and 2-Person Teams to sell out before the event day. It may be beautiful outside the DEKA FIT arena, but trust you don't want to be shut out of this event.

Nicole Kelly grew up as the kid picked last in gym class. From elementary school into adulthood, coaches overlooked her because of her size, but she kept showing up for the things she loved: lifting, trail running, and climbing the escarpment stairs near home.
After a stretch of hardship and trauma, an ad for Spartan Stadium at Notre Dame caught her eye. That day, that venue, and an unexpected breakfast conversation introduced her to DEKA.
She signed up for the first Canadian event the moment registration opened.
"I wanted to quit, but my judge did not let me. Earning my mark changed everything."
What started with a 38:57 DEKA STRONG in October 2021 has since become a trifecta, a teams trifecta, a ruck trifecta, a Worlds appearance, and history.
Nicole was part of the very first DEKA Ultra and is now the first female to complete the DEKA Ultra, doing it with a ruck on her back. She is a Titan 6 Actual Athlete and a Frontline Athletic Ambassador.
The ruck division is where she feels most at home, and her next goal is to cut her STRONG time nearly in half while carrying one. But the medals and the firsts are not what she leads with. What she is most proud of is never giving up when every reason to quit was right in front of her, and being able to take those moments and pass them on to the men, women, and youth she now helps start their own journeys.
"People like me, the unsuspecting athlete, drive me. I want others to find their place and challenge themself too. I want everyone to know what belonging unconditionally feels like."
For Nicole, DEKA became an outlet, a form of therapy, and a family. Now she is making sure others find the same.

While most people celebrate their 70th birthday with a quiet dinner, Mickey Syrop spent his tackling the Austin DEKA FIT Ultra. He pushed through 50 fitness zones and 25K of running in a celebration that redefined what it means to reach a milestone age. 🤯
Mickey’s presence on the course is a testament to incredible resilience. In the last three years alone, he has overcome triple bypass surgery and spinal fusion surgery, yet he continues to "beat the demons" with every lap. For Mickey, the sport is a shared passion with his wife, Elaine. Since discovering DEKA as a sport they could conquer together, they have become a beloved staple of the community, a journey that famously included a mainstage engagement at the Carolinas DEKA FIT in 2024. 💍❤️
