Questo tessuto nasce tra la fine del XVIII e il XIX secolo.
Il termine inglese “ticking” deriva dal francese antico “tique”: una fodera resistente pensata per durare nel tempo.
Le sue iconiche righe sono state pensate, prima di tutto, per nascondere lo sporco.
È stato il coprimaterasso di intere generazioni. Comune nelle case italiane fino agli anni ’80 e ’90.
