Another great film by @originpoint.io I had the recent privilege to shoot a mini doc on the history of @fotokem_la for the @hpa_online HPA Awards. We choose to shoot on our modified @arri 435 35mm 4 perf film cameras so that we could truly showcase what fotokem has done for the film industry. I made my career with this camera and always love when I get to shoot on it again. A huge thanks to my co-DOP @dan_kanes@atlaslensco for the amazing Orions we used for this piece and for the whole team and crew from @originpoint.io for the shoot and this edit to showcase what we did.
Big thanks to @originpoint.io for creating this great little promo for our little shop.. Have a watch and listen to what we are all about!

Hands-on learning at DeHaven.
Eric breaking down how to properly operate the Ronin, starting with activating your core so everything else can stay relaxed and controlled.
Because smooth movement starts with the body.
Thereâs a right way to move on set.
Eric explains why we donât work through the camera, we reposition ourselves or the setup to protect the equipment.
Weâre here to build, not break.
Small habits like this prevent big mistakes.
Ingrid Sanchez came in for a lens test, taking the time to explore and prepare so she can be exact on the day of the shoot.
Because great visuals donât happen by accident. Theyâre built through intentional choices ahead of time.
Ingrid and Raquel came through for their prep, taking the time to get everything dialed in before shoot day.
At DeHaven, weâre all about creating a safe space for filmmakers to explore, prepare, and build with confidence.
Our good friend @paulcarrabbajr came through and said âLens tests arenât optional, theyâre essential.â
Every lens has its own character. Color, contrast, falloff, flare⊠it all impacts how your story feels on screen.
Testing before the shoot helps you make intentional choices, not guesses.
Stay creative, regardless of the results.
Not every idea will land.
Not every project will hit.
But creativity isnât built on outcomes, itâs built on consistency.
Keep showing up. Keep creating.

If youâre trying to get on set, a way to get your foot in the door is to learn how to drive a truck backwards.
It might sound small, but skills like this make you valuable early on.
When youâre just getting started, itâs not about titles, itâs about being useful.
Because the more you can do, the more opportunities come your way.
