Inspiration :: “Starfish Dancer” by Demetre Chiparus, 1888-1950
Demetre Chiparus was a renowned Romanian Art Deco sculptor who worked in Paris. Chiparus was famous for his elegant chryselephantine figurines combining bronze and ivory. His work, often inspired by Russian ballet, French theater, and Egyptian art, is celebrated for its high-fashion, long-limbed, and dramatic poses.
The Hollyhock has become Déhanche’s defining signature. Its design has shaped the evolution of the brand and inspired new iterations across belts and jewelry while becoming an iconic staple of every wardrobe.
The Santo is a western-inspired buckle rendered in mixed metals, with intricately carved detailing that evokes heritage ornamentation through a sculptural, contemporary lens.

Inspiration :: Sculpture by Eduardo Chillida
Eduardo Chillida (1924–2002) explored form, space, and structure through sculpture. Trained in architecture, he worked with iron and steel to define volume through restraint and balance. His focus on how form shapes space parallels Déhanche, where structure defines the waist, and design becomes a study in presence.
