On August 18, 2020, Catherine Cumberbatch, my sweet roommate of 98 years old, passed away. For 7 years we shared an apartment, cooked (or burned) meals, swapped stories, rode the ambulance together, potted plants, battled over the volume of TV (she had double hearing aids ❤️), and much, much more. What appeared to be an unconventional living situation to others, was nothing but normal to me. She was and will continue to be my grandmother and my best bud. And one of the things I loved and took away with me was his message to lose the stinky attitude.
Which I know we all have sometimes. We're human and we get tired. If I am short on sleep I am more likely to grumble about things.
But he gives such a strong reminder of the joy and privilege of being able to work, hone your craft, learn, and grow that I came away totally inspired and am sure you will to.
