A night to remember celebrating @izyohanna who I met this time last year celebrating her last birthday and the birth of @defined_sf . I thought she invited me by mistake because it was her birthday party and we’d never officially met, but she said she just loved my vibe so I didn’t let social anxiety win, and I went and met some of the coolest people ever. It was the first social event I’d been to where I felt like everyone was just immediately vibing and talking about real life sh*t, the type of thing you don’t always see in upscale, elevated spaces, where people of color often have to trade the expression of our full personalities for the opportunity to be in the room, you know the ones where you’re wondering within minutes if it’s too soon to go home😭. That’s the opposite of the atmosphere surrounding @defined_sf ; every event is curated to be one you talk about for weeks on end, keep posting about, and actually keep in touch with the people you meet when you leave. Cannot wait for the fashion show!!
