I have been working sooooo hard on specimens and display. You can catch me at Rah Rah Room next Sunday (5/24) for the oddity market!
There are so many intensive (and often gross) steps that go into the proper prep of a bone. Even when my pockets are thin and I splash the maceration juice I am happy to work with my special interest for a living >:)
The rib display features a dog I found at the park - I assume he didn’t have a name, so I left the tag blank </3 Come adopt him or another sustainably sourced creature from me next weekend 🙂↔️
I can’t stop cruciFlying…… redid this one because it’s been bothering me and I’m so much happier with it <3 just need to get staples for my staple gun to tighten up the frame. I am feeling super inspired by like mixing primitive Americana or mid century trad with insects and rot and want to do a whole themed collection. Stay tuned 😋
Repost for contrast 🤥
Patron saint of bugs (self-insert). I love insects as the divine I love being a museum of everyone I’ve ever loved. I still hate painting but I think I’m unfortunately getting a little better each time I do it. I painted and glossed to match the longhorn beetle elytra and the lyside sulphur forewings 🤓☝🏼
Creepy savior men acting as though they’re not the threat in question……. The lasting effects of growing up a (yes, mentally ill, but) hyperpathologized femme….. <3
I’ve been collecting deer knuckles over the past few months to make a statement necklace. The little ones are from fawns ❤️🩹 Thinking about my grandma and how I would bead and make jewelry with her as a kid. I think I’ll start trying my hand at beading again while I’m under the weather
A love letter to the genre (going outside)
Chronic illness is making my world smaller right now and I am quite sad about it so I made an artsy little nature fan cam from my bed. I had this song on repeat when my grandpa was dying. I used to play the viola and was actually pretty good! I drove past his house today and the new buyers have already repainted. Feeling it all. Miss you mother earth miss you granddad miss you half-working body that has been out for milk a while now.
