The first of its kind in the southern hemisphere, the Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility (DMMF) will become a regional hub for the maintenance and sustainment of aircraft for the Australian Defence Force and that of our partners. ➡️ Story 2: Century Engineering has become the first Australian business to secure export contracts into the United States naval nuclear supply chain, embedding Australian industry within the US industrial base. The South Australian manufacturer has been awarded contracts by HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding to produce precision-engineered parts for US aircraft carriers. Production of the crank components will begin within weeks. ➡️ Story 3: NIOA has partnered with Hydrix to deliver critical counter-drone capabilities to the Australian Defence Force. The multilateral arrangement will enhance information sharing and collaboration between Australia, Norway and 10 other countries that use the Naval Strike Missile and Joint Strike Missile, which are developed by Norwegian defence company Kongsberg. ➡️ Story 2: American aerospace company PteroDynamics has secured a contract to supply Transwing VTOL unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for the Royal Australian Navy’s autonomous maritime distributed logistics capabilities. Under the contract, PteroDynamics will deliver P4 Transwing UAS aircraft plus training and support, with the option for RAN to purchase larger P5 Transwing UAS systems for delivery starting in 2027. ➡️ Story 3: Rohde & Schwarz and Quantum Systems have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly integrate advanced electronic warfare (EW) capabilities and counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) solutions into uncrewed systems.
