In two weeks, we’re honoring the legend that is David Bowie, not just the music, but the story behind it all.
Join us for an intimate listening party at @margolisphilly where we’ll explore Bowie’s life and discography, sip drinks, and we’ll share stories behind some beloved tracks and records. Each drink purchase enters you into a raffle to take home a vinyl record.
Bowie also believed art had responsibility, that music could connect people across borders, cultures, and lived experiences. In that spirit, tickets for this event are donation-based, with proceeds benefiting Amnesty International, an organization he actively supported.

Some fun facts about this release. From 1994 all the way up to 2001, Green Day would visit the BBC’s Studios in London a few times and record live sessions for their radio shows.
This past year, Warner Records released this as: Green Day ‘BBC Sessions’, a collection of these recordings. 16 entire tracks. This release holds all of those sessions over the years, which are being released for the first time.

Starting 2022 looking like The Riddler BUT ALSO with one of my favorite records that never fails to put me in an incredible mood. Jessie Ware’s Platinum Edition of her 2020 banger ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’. It’s disco, funk, dance, pop all rolled into one, which is perfection. This record was reissued as a platinum edition this past summer with a couple of new tracks added too. I dove back into this album this fall and it’s been a delight to rediscover old favorites along with the new tunes. In celebrating their 25 years as a label, @fueledby is releasing some of their most classic records onto these beautiful silver variants. 🙏🏾 The 16 year old with teenage angst really enjoys every single one of these drops.
As Panic’s debut album they made a splash on the scene with this record. Recording this ONE MONTH after they graduated high school, AFYCSO became a commercial success. I mean ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies” was everywhere and one of their most memorable records. If we’re being honest, it still slaps today 😂

Charli has a huge influence on the sound of today’s hyperpop and underground pop. With A.G. Cook and Sophie (rest her soul 🙏🏾) as a producers, it’s immaculate start to finish. I have always said that’s Charli’s mixtapes are the strongest projects she puts out. For Word of Mouf’s 20th Anniversary, Vinyl Me, Please dropped this beautiful orange galaxy pressing of this classic. (20th anniversary sounds crazy right?!) I’m just going to keep it short and say undeniably it’s one of Ludacris’ best records, and the best selling. I mean Move Bitch, Roll Out, and Area Codes all on the same record?! Just on its own Area Codes is a top tier rap track, I mean the puns from that record are still unmatched. (Rest In Peace to Nate Dogg.) This album deserves all of the praise and speaks volumes as its stood the test of time as a southern classic. This pressing is just gorgeous as well. 😻

Hi, it’s me. The woman who is slowly but surely getting her hands on the vinyl pressings of every single CD she owned in middle school. Last month was Riot, this month I bring you Gym Class Heroes’ As Cruel As School Children.
Released on @fueledby in 2006, it was @gymclassheroes ’ first record to reach the Billboard 200. With some notable guest features, including Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and The Academy Is…’ William Beckett it’s not hard to see why. (Some of the remixes for tracks on this album also include guest features from Travie’s cousin Tyga, Lil Wayne and Ghostface Killa.)
Some of the songs from this record you may be familiar with include sampling from some heavy hitting tracks. Clothes Off, is a sample of a Jermaine Stewart’s We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes off and Cupid’s Chokehold, samples Supertramp’s Breakfast in America.
This record had such a hold on me in middle school 😩. I remember the day I bought this at FYE after saving up. Some records just hold that special place in your heart and this is one of them.
