Our district is full of hard workers who just want a fair shake. Many, like Kristen and me, work two jobs to stay afloat or try to get ahead, and far too many don’t know that New York State has some of the strongest labor laws in the country.

We still mourn the ten beautiful lives taken from us that dark day by a white supremacist.
Today, we remember.
The other 364 days of the year, we must recommit ourselves as a community to more than remembrance. To urgent action. To never being deterred in our effort to address the structural reasons why a terrorist could so easily wreak such devastation on our Black community.
May these ten souls rest in power, and may we channel their power into real action and systemic change.
