Some of the best course conditions don’t come from one big thing, they come from hundreds of little things done consistently over time.
A group of our Members, The Sandmen, have taken it upon themselves to go the extra mile for Deerfield. They carry additional sand bottles every time they play and pick one fairway on the front and back to fill divots on each day. They spend their Mondays fixing a goal of 10 ball marks on every green after busy weekends of public play. Around here, they call it “Ball Mark Mondays.” The goal is simple; leave the course a little better than they found it.
That pride and stewardship matters. Our members see the golf course through every season, every weather pattern, and every challenge. They love this place, respect it, and take pride in helping us protect the conditions we all enjoy. Combined with the incredible work from our grounds team each day, it’s a huge part of why Deerfield continues to play the way it does. So, THANK YOU to our Fairway Fixers and everyone else who helps protect and maintain the course we love so much.
If you’re out on the course this week, take an extra second to fill a divot, repair a ball mark, or rake a bunker for the next group. Small acts make a big difference. Antlers Up! ⛳
